Dear Sharie,
Am in bed with I-pad….Reading over some of your spirit messages. Just read Take a Leap and saw that I had sent a comment…and you had written me back. I couldn’t believe it was June 15 th!!!! today is the 12th of July.
First not so good day where I obsessed about being so afraid of this trip.
I see I must “be kind and gentle” to myself…and follow your words toward peace and healing.
I will read them again in a minute.
“my heart forgives with gentle kindness…..God Is my only will.”
It’s almost like I need to say…..”Holy Spirit………help me to see me differently!”
That may be a good addition. 🙂
love to you and goodnight sister Sharie,
Pat

Hi Sharie,
I am new to Course in Miracles. While I have questions, there is a peace about the Course and about your writings, which I am so thankful to have found. Wondering if you could direct me to a lesson that will help with the fears and burden I feel with my long several-year divorce that has been costly financially and emotionally and needs closure for the children and I. I also would like to know how the Course works to help women and children coming out of domestic abuse where there are deep wounds that need healing.
Thank you again for your beautiful posts. They bring joy and peace to my heart. Blessings!

Cecilia, welcome to the Course family!!! This Course is such a loving path. Not easy because it requires a lot of forgiveness and no judgment allowed, but such a powerful way to live. It sounds like you have a lot of complications with a long and costly divorce and children and coming out of domestic abuse. Please accept my hug and love woman to woman. I had a similar experience, but very long ago and I can testify that it will end and life will get better. Please keep your trust alive and well.
I don’t know if you’re aware, but we have a weekly study group that you can join by CD or MP3 download. Beverly Hutchinson Mc Neff is the facilitator and she’s been a course student for way over 30 years and is wonderful. And then should you decide to join the study group you can join the listener board which is filled with amazing loving Course students who will support you every step of the way and answer all of your questions. Also, Bev is a fountain of information as to which lessons would help you. My writing comes from my Course teachings, but I am not so well versed on which lesson applies to specific experiences. Please contact Bev at info@miraclecenter.org and just tell her what you told me and she will take your hand and lead you through the process of finding the right lessons and joining the study group if you wish to. It’s wonderful to know that there are so many loving spirits standing with you who have been through what you’re going through and who are willing to hold you up and help you move past these lessons.
In the meantime, I am grateful for your presence on my site and will hold you in light and keep my prayers for you and your family in my heart for healing of this challenging situation that you are going through. You and your children are entitled to miracles and I will envision them for you and do a meditation for you along with my prayers. Please keep in contact. If you would like me to contact Bev for you and have her get ahold of you and put you and your children on the Center’s prayer list, I would be happy to. Let me know your e-mail address and I will have Bev e-mail you and you will feel more loved and supported than you ever have in your life. The Course community is beautiful, judges no one and will always be by your side. Love you, Sharie

Sharie, I just read your reply to me and your new post today and wanted to say thank you for all your beautiful words. Your prayers, love and support for me and my children mean so much.
I am so grateful to be encouraged to walk the path of forgiveness and no judgement. In committing my life to this path, I am beginning to understand what it means to be in complete trust of God and to just rest in Him and His complete love of me, leaving all the details and unknowns to Him. It is so freeing and I can see why you said it is a powerful way to live. I love how you wrote in today’s post that we are simply to allow ourselves to be lifted to a higher place and accept we are a Light in the world and to “smile quietly and let the joy flow in.”
I will follow up with Bev Hutchinson as you suggested. It is so nice to know there is a community in which I will “feel more loved and supported than (I) ever have in my life;” a community which is “beautiful, judges no one and will always be by (my) side.” The hardest lie to overcome when coming out of abuse is the belief that God does not love me and that I am not loveable. I am thankful for you, the Course and Course community which I know is part of God’s healing and miracle journey for me and my children.
Blessings and love,
Cecilia

Cecilia Dearest, so glad for your courage and your loving heart and for wanting something better for yourself and your children. It sounds like you are ready for a greater world and a sweeter life. Even though A Course In Miracles is intense and becomes more so as you study it longer, it does start out gently and moves to deeper thinking as you are ready. And if you’re not ready you can stay on a particular lesson as long as you like. Although, I find it best to just do a lesson for a day or so and move on whether I feel ready or not. This is a life long Course and we are not expected to get it on the first try. I have been doing this for 20 years and still feel as though I am a work in progress. What’s lovely is knowing we are not alone. We have each other and we have Jesus and the Holy Spirit and the Divine Universe as our teachers. I have felt carried through everything I have experienced since I have begun the Course. Feeling worthy is a particular challenge for someone coming out of abuse. I know what that is about. But the beauty is it doesn’t matter how we feel because the truth will always sustain us. WE ARE WORTHY. No amount of fears from the past can affect the truth. Believing what is true is not always easy, but the more we study the Course, the stronger will our trust muscle grow. It’s a process like learning the piano or any other skill.
Know how blessed you are and that you are surrounded by love and support and we will never let you down. You will love Bev and she will love you. She is a fountain of wisdom and the Miracle Distribution Center is filled with great ideas and programs and help including a never ending prayer circle. Love you dear sister in Christ. Have a beautiful day. Sharie
