WHO AM I, REALLY?

“Who would attempt to fly with the tiny wings of a sparrow when the mighty power of an eagle has been given him?” A Course In Miracles

“Today I will willingly question my identity and my real purpose here.”

We must start with one tiny step in God’s direction, then another and another, just as a toddler learns to walk. We have convinced ourselves that believing in our holiness and our greatness is egotistical when exactly the opposite is true.  It is egotistical to tell ourselves that we are something less than what God created. Then we are saying that we know more about ourselves than God does.  How can we know more than our Creator about His creation?  We have made ourselves small through our thinking.  The first step is to ask Him for help in letting go of our tiny beliefs so we can begin to get a glimmer of who we are through His eyes.

Each small step in His direction, lifting our faces to the Light, taking His hand and asking Him for help in letting go of our limited preconceived notions will bring us closer to our truth. The greatest prayer on earth is “Help me.” This is what it means to surrender. This is true forgiveness; true forgiveness of ourselves and for the world.

One small step, one tiny entreaty, one crack in the armor, one question in our minds can open the floodgate to true Love.  And the question is this; Who am I, really? The sparrow or the eagle?  Let us decide with God today.
