LOVE YOUR WAY THROUGH FEAR

“… replace darkness with light and fear with love.” A Course In Miracles

Let’s envision fear (anxiety, depression, anger, sadness, etc.) as a child in need of love.  We lift the frightened child into our heart and soothe it with a gentle lullaby. The child is having a nightmare. We must be kind and patient with our young and frightened self. As we offer love and reassurance to the child inside us, the nightmare is lifted up and disappears into the light of our own truth. Confusion and terror are calmed by comfort and reassurance.

By sending thoughts of love and kindness to our frightened selves calm and quiet confidence rises within us. As our loving muscle strengthens, our fear muscle weakens. Fear cannot fight love or argue with it because love simply is and can’t fight back.  Fear needs a fight in order to survive. It needs validation; something to hold onto. Fear cannot cling to love or argue with it. It simply slips away like a shadow in the night fades silently into light.

In lifting fear up to Love we have gifted ourselves with a power we never knew we possessed. That is the power to be happy in the face of fear. Just as we would comfort any frightened child, we can bring our own spirit back to peace with a simple smile, a gentle hug and a loving thought.   “I seek but what belongs to me in truth.  God’s gifts of joy and peace are all I want.” A Course In Miracles.

Next time we feel fear in any form, let’s smile at our self and say, “I love you.” And feel the transformation from fear into peace begin, one loving thought and moment at a time.
