ALL THOUGHTS ARE HABITS

Life can and should be simple.  Ego complicates, God simplifies.

You don’t have to be unhappy.  You don’t have to react in anger or feel sad or lonely or fearful.  You don’t even have to be sick.  Miracles of healing happen all the time.  You can choose to bring into your mind empowering thoughts and let go of weakening thoughts.  It takes time and effort to change your thought habits and patterns.  But you can do it.  You have the power of God within you and you can tap into it at any time you choose.

All thoughts are habits.  Weakening habits can be changed to strengthening habits by simply being willing to make the effort to change them.  It may not be easy at first as we have spent a lifetime setting our thoughts and beliefs in stone.  But even stone can be worn away with time and effort.

Start with the willingness. Tell God you want a better way of being in the world. Then tell Him again and again until you actually believe it.  Often we think we want change, but when it comes right down to it, we find we’re pretty comfortable with our fear habits and we become afraid of being happy.  it may sound strange, but it is a common phenomenon.  Look around you and see how others keep their fear habits even though you can see clearly how they could make things easier and better for themselves.

Then when you are really ready, begin by surrendering one weakening thought and working on that until you see it differently.  And as you see the result of that, feel encouraged and go onto the next aspect of yourself or your life you want changed.  You don’t need to do it all at once.  A step at a time;  A moment at a time is all that is required.  That and a little willingness.

Many take the first step and even the first few steps than slide right back down into their misery.  Don’t give up.  You can do it.  And remember it is well worth the effort.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.
