“I will walk in my own beauty today.”
We are not our bodies, we are spirit. But we have a responsibility to love and care for our bodies. Our bodies are here to serve a purpose in helping make the world a better place and our lives easier if we allow it. We must enjoy our body and value it, not for its size or shape, but for its true design.
Our smiles can express kindness and love.
Our voices can speak for those who can’t.
Our eyes can radiate joy.
Our hands can offer help and hope.
Our arms can hug a child or a frightened friend.
Our feet can take us wherever we are needed.
Our hearts and minds can be open to great possibilities for joy and love.
We should eat with healthy enjoyment. We should exercise until it feels good. We should play with delight and laugh freely. We should speak gently and breathe lightly. We should work with purpose and a sense of fun. We should take the time to smell the sweet alyssum, breathe in the beauty and feel the textures of life. When we use our bodies in this way, we will always be beautiful.
May your body carry you wherever God wants you today.
