“My mind holds only what I think with God.” A Course In Miracles
Acceptance is the first step toward inner peace. Trust is the core for our acceptance. Before we can accept ourselves and others as we and they are, we must first trust there is something greater than ourselves on which to rest our fears. Within each of us is a strength and a power we cannot see with the world’s eyes. This power extends light into the world and is the loving Being that lives within us.
If we take a moment to sit quietly and examine all our caring thoughts, our acts and words of encouragement and kindness, our loving feelings for our friends and families and our willingness to be at peace, we will recognize that God is indeed alive and well within us. When we are trusting in all that brings us joy, we are trusting God.
Now let’s stand back and look quietly at all that disturbs us and causes us to judge and worry and feel attacked. Let’s forgive ourselves for every mistaken thought and word and act. Let’s open our hearts to the Self within us that is calm, kind and compassionate; the part of our mind that thinks with God.
This other way of thinking holds no grievances, but only answers. Here are the answers to all our questions. Here is our Holy path and the purpose for which we continually seek. It’s not out there, but right in here, inside our mind and heart where God placed it at the very moment that He created us. It’s not new, but older than time. And hence we pray, “My mind holds only what I think with God.”
