We pray for a world where the children are always safe.
A world where no one could find it in their heart to ever
harm even a hair on their beautiful heads.
We pray for a world where violence has been transformed
by a Love and a Light that is Holy and Divine and protects
not only the youngest, but all of God’s Children everywhere.
In mosques, in churches, in temples, in salons, on the streets,
in homes, in the schools … Everywhere.
We pray for a world where no soul is so wounded that they cannot
see that the darkness in their mind is not their own holy truth
and they will always ask for help before they act out in the world.
We pray for a world where a mother and father can send their
children out of the home with confidence and joy knowing that
they will always be safe and happy and well.
Until that world exists, let us pray to remember that God does not
allow harm or cause suffering or make sickness of minds and hearts.
Let us remember that God’s only purpose is to carry us through these tragic times as He enfold us in His Love and comforts us and gives us the strength to get through it.
Let us pray for all of us affected by the tragedy in Connecticut that God’s Light can be allowed to shine through all the sad and angry hearts and bring healing and a better way on behalf of those children and their families so they have not died in vain, but as holy heroes whose passing has changed the world forever making it a place of hope instead of hopelessness, of safety instead of danger and of joy instead of joylessness.
Let us pray that God’s forgiveness will enter our hearts so a new way of thinking can transform us and make it less likely that this will ever happen again. Let us use this experience as an opportunity to forgive someone in our lives. Let us allow that decision to forgive to be our symbol and our intention for a world where not one hair on one child can ever be harmed again.
Let us not allow ourselves to be governed by fear because of this, for that will only keep us open to more suffering of the same nature. Now let us walk in light and trust in God and in the God energy within each of us knowing that this is what will keep us and ours safe from now on.
We pray to remember that this new transformed and transcended world we desire begins with us. Each time that we choose to be kind to someone is helpful to God and creates a moment where a new seed is planted and a new thought sends healing energy rippling out into the world. God needs His teachers and His helpers now more than ever. Let those teachers and helpers be us.
Now let us lay aside our fear and thank God for His presence in our hearts. God can’t stop the insanity because we are His powerful creations who have a will of our own. But we can, one grateful and compassionate heart and act at a time, be instruments and channels for His healing in the world.
Amen.
Your prayer is beautifully said. Thank you for that comfort at this most difficult time. Love Jill

Jill, Dear Spirit Sister, thank you for your e-mail sending a prayer to 12 disciples in the world. If you don’t mind, I will use this prayer for that purpose. Love you, Sharie

Thank you so much for this perfect prayer, spiritteacher. I was so beside myself on Facebook yesterday where the world seemed to be in a tailspin. I did not know how to respond using my Course learnings because I have not been a student long enough, AND I immersed my self in the world, eventually leading into the world of ego.
Thank God for my husband, also a student, new like me since 7/2/12 (although I had the books long ago)… he has kept me steady and has taken care of me by cooking for me lately.
Spiritteacher, I would like very much to copy & paste this poem onto my Facebook page (giving credit to you as “spiritteacher” but not saying where I know you from – I do not break others’ anonymity without their permission). This prayer is necessary for me to let people who have been watching me lately know that I am not about, as a friend says, “ooo ooo”. The world needs someone who knows them but can also walk with them. Please let me know.
I feel the connection between all of us who are on this page – you, spiritteacher, me, everyone who reads your loving & blessed teachings, and everyone who shares. We are One Love. *contented, tiny smile*

Thank you Marya. I did feel a connection between us. I didn’t realize you were a Course student too. Of course you may use this prayer or anything posted here and invite people to this spiritual site any time you choose. My name is Sharie Sloane Gauerke and my e-mail address is sayit@sendingjoy.com. I don’t mind sharing that information with anyone who needs some help on their spiritual journey. Are you and your husband familiar with the Course in Miracle weekly study group in Anaheim and that, if you are interested, you can get a CD or download of the study group every week? Have you had the opportunity to connect with the Miracle Distribution Center? You and your husband can get plenty of help with the Course from these resources. Also, we have an online Listener Board whereby like minded Course students support and help each other along our paths. Maybe you know these things already and maybe you are on the Listener Board and I am just not remembering. But if not, just Google Miracle Distribution Center and post a message to Maria that you are interested in the Study Group and Listener Board. They will love hearing from you and your husband. God bless you both. I’m so glad you found me here. God always leads us where we need to be. Love, Sharie

Dear Sharie,
It all worked out all right for me with my Facebook page – Being God Guided, as we all are (or can be, if we’d like) took care of it. I should have known I had nothing to worry about. I look forward to your next teaching and I thank you SO MUCH for this wonderful sharing you do. I was blessed the day I found you here.
Love,
Marya

Thank you, Sharie,
Well said. this has been quite a terrible tragedy. what can we do now?
As a former teacher and school counselor I am feeling there is something I ought to be doing,. Maybe inthe days to follow it will come to me.
In the meantime I am tired and will go to bed and pray to God for answers. My son and his family live about a half hour fromNewtown.
I wrote more on the listeners board about my concerns.
thank you for your message here.
Love,
Sis, Pat

Pat Dear, I know there is a better way and that the Holy Spirit can use all things for His Loving purpose. I think the best thing we can do while we wait for further guidance is to be kind to everyone we encounter, to forgive everyone with which we hold a grievance and surrender our judgments to God so He can work through us as channels of healing in this situation and in the world. Love Sis Sharie

Dear Sharie,
Thank you so much for your kind words, and thank you to everyone else who is following this prayer. There was a picture of a beautiful young woman named Victoria that I found on Facebook along with her story. During that tragic day and time, she hid her students in a cupboard. When the gunman came, she told him they were in the gym. He gunned her down and moved on… the students were saved. ~~ I sent Victoria’s photo with its short story to my sister-in-law to express that I heard her (and everyone’s) sadness, but underneath the sadness, their despair. I didn’t have to say anything, just give her the photo/story along with a very short note.
Sharie, thank you so much for the information on MDC and the Listener Board. Yes, I connected with MDC right away by looking up Study Groups in my area (greater Detroit) and getting the small blue booklet they sell (written by Robert Perry, I believe). I also got rubber wristbands for my husband and for me – they have Course quotes on them. I reach into the drawer where they are & “blindly” (lol~) select one to wear each day. The one I just selected is “I am the light of the world”.
I have been getting Beverly’s Study Group CDs but had not been listening after the first few (long story — still get them, though). I am ready to start listening again. I’m also on the Listener Board but only looked at it once or twice (that’s where I found you a short while ago.) I’ll start keeping current with the Study Groups and the Listener Post. Thanks, Sharie. <3
Thank you for allowing me to share your teachings. xoxoxo
Love,
Marya

Marya Dear, thank you for the beautiful story of Victoria and her expression of the highest love on earth. Breathtaking! I’m so glad you found the MDC and the Listener Board, but not surprised. We are always guided to where we need to be and with whom we need to be. For me it’s wonderful to have a spriitual path as clear as ACIM. It’s not an easy path because it requires turning all our thinking around. And I still feel like a work in progress even after 20 years. But in many ways life is easier now. Not because the world is easier, but I see things differently now. I no longer allow myself to believe I’m a victim and that in itself is very freeing. i have had so many miracles since I began the Course by simply letting go and letting God which is my idea of forgiveness. And God or the Holy Spirit never disappoint me. Thank you for making yourself known to me. I believe we will be friends now for always. Teachers and students together on this spiritual journey we call life. Have a beautiful day. Love you, Sharie
